This house is inspired by Mies Van de rohe's Brick Country House , from the plan and elevation of the house, it could be found that , the house have a distinctive layers, which celebrate a strong sense of space, therefore, in the progress of I designing this house, the key term how to  is show different layer from a flat section (THE SECTION ALSO IN THE COMPUTER:)).

I found three ways to show the layer  (difference between adjacent spaces)
1. different textures
2. different geometrical forms
3.size
which could be clearly shown in the next short animation

[EXP3] Article Mashup

Alternating repetition helps in the informational definition of repeating components. helps to better define essential translational symmetry. But
making a house means making it for the people, making it more tranquil, or closer to nature, more humanized.
architecture is an abstract concept. Great architecture is itself educational. They provide a method of getting away from  non-adaptive state. so many designs nowadays are actually architecture. It inspires all of us to reach, to imagine, to expand our ideas.

“making houses, not architecture”, is about not making that abstract concept, but to make something really concrete and tangible, something that you can touch or that is made with your own hands…  It helps us envision the future of liberal arts education for the world we inhabit today.

[Exp2] The two concepts+details + image captures

Two concepts

Aalvar Aalto: 'The shapes and design that surround us are music accompanying tragedy and comedy.'
+
Rem Koolhaas:‘The city is an addictive machine from which is no escape .'
=
the process of  innovation of 'city machine' create both comedy and tragedy

Both the windows and textures have showed a sense of 'machine' which could not be escaped.

From this scene, the light way station could be seen as a 'comedy'.

The contrast between light and dark, black and white, thick and thin have reflect the combination of 'comedy' and 'tragedy'.

Details

Inspired by the Maison à Bordeaux of Rem Koolhaas, windows which in different scales ordered like rythem.  and create a negative space under the light way station.

The ceiling of the model is inspired by Saynatsalo Town Hall Finland of Alvar Aalto.
